Galaxia Caribeña Series:
When I was young there was no electricity at night where I grew up.
I used to watch the stars and imagine distant worlds. These works are a celebration of my people, of how we find light even in darkness.
Artist Bio:
Yermine Richardson is a Caribbean multidisciplinary artist from Dominican Republic, whose visual works are vibrant celebrations of Afro-Caribbean cultures and aesthetics. His art is inspired by the traditional semiotics of Afro-Caribbean heritage such as womanhood, patterns, spiritualism and cosmology. He lives and works in Barcelona, Spain. He has been selected for the XXVIII Bienal Nacional de Artes Visuales MAM, Santo Domingo , República Dominicana.
