This series of work is all about softness, smoothness and flow. It is an attempt to bring us closer to a more feminine and soft energy. Wearing silk has a lot of magical properties in Asia where the artist is partially from as well (her mum Afro descendant and Indian, her dad french and Vietnamese). Silk painting is a very old tradition in Vietnam of which the artist wanted to refer to but in a very personal way.
Visual artist, singer, reiki practitioner and model, Daëna Ladeesse develops her practice at the intersection of music, contemporary art, and alternative medicine. Coming from a family of artists and healers, Daëna made contact with art and spirituality from an early age, thanks to her grandmother, Reiki master. Since then, she has cultivated this heritage and put the body and the work on energies at the center of her art. Her visions are embodied in a voluptuous universe made of nymphs, goddesses, and women with lascivious curves: a work around the feminine and sacred sexuality.
